Who I am
My name is Sergio Botero and I am a concept artist, computer graphics artist and product design engineer from Medellín, Colombia. I am currently working as a freelance artist, but I am also available for a position as an in-house concept or computer graphics artist in the film, videogame or commercial industry.
What I do
. I provide freelance concept art services for the film, videogame and commercial industries. Vehicles, props, environments and characters. Thumbnails, sketches, concept development, full production digital paintings and orthographic views for modeling.
. I am available for in-house concept art, 3D hard surface modeling or both tasks. I am knowledgeable of texturing and shading, lighting and rendering with Mental Ray and VRay, rigging and animation in Maya, matte painting using 2D and 3D techniques, and fundamentals of compositing with Nuke. I will start providing CG services in Maya and Photoshop starting on june of 2013.
. I am available for in house real product design contracts, for I worked in an elevator manufacturing company for five years designing aerial ropeway and elevator components, drafting mechanical drawings and creating the bills of materials for them.
Education:
. Maya Fast Track certificate program at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, California, United States of America. I have also taken more digital and traditional courses related to concept art and computer graphics, mostly for modeling, rigging and rendering.

. Excellent grammar, orthography and redaction in Spanish, since it is the native language.

. One year as apprentice and as engineering assistant in Coservicios S. A., Ascensores Andino (Now Schindler Andino, property of Schindler GmbH) (2005-2006).
. Four years as project engineer in Coservicios S. A., Ascensores Andino (Now Schindler Andino, property of Schindler GmbH) (2007 - 2011).
. Three months as a concept artist and 3D modeler in a project of a videogame between Gnomon School of Visual Effects and USC (2013)
. Three years and a half as a freelance concept and CG artist (2011, 2013 - 2015)
